Patchouli Essential Oil Uses and Recipes

Patchouli essential oil is quite versatile. It plays well with many other oils to support your health and vitality.

Here is what Young Living has to say about Patchouli

Patchouli oil (Pogostemon cablin) is carefully extracted through steam distillation of a low, bushy shrub native to tropical regions in Southeast Asia. Although the plant is part of the mint family, Patchouli essential oil has a powerful, musky scent, and because of its complex aroma, Patchouli oil uses often include perfumes, soaps, incense, and essential oil blends.

With a rich history and unique aromatic profile, Patchouli oil is perfect for the free spirit. Use its calming, relaxing aroma during meditation or yoga practice or apply topically to improve the appearance of skin.

Some Uses for Patchouli

Patchouli essential oil is commonly used in skincare products and for emotional support. It is also found in many other products as it is a very versatile essential oil.

With skin soothing benefits, it is especially nice for aging skin. For skin support add apply 2-3 drops with gentle massage for a healthy, youth-ful glow. Add to your hair products for healthier hair.

It is also calming and relaxing. Patchouli oil with its relaxing properties may help to clarify thoughts, allowing getting rid of jealousy, obsessions and insecurities.

For emotional release apply topically using 2-4 drops directly to desired area. Dilution not required except for most sensitive skin, although I tend to use carrier oil most of the time. You can also diffuse throughout your day for a calm and peace filled environment.

Roller Ball Recipes

Making your own roller ball recipes is fun and easy. You can tweak them to your liking so easily. Just grab an empty 5 or 10 mL oil bottle and add a roller fitment, from Young Living. You can also grab a set of roller balls. I prefer the 10 mL size as it lasts me longer and then add your favorite carrier oil along with your blend.
