What is Cardamom Essential Oil Good For?

What is Cardamom good for anyway?

Cardamom (Ellettaria cardamomum) historically was used in the Middle Ages by Indian healers and was nicknamed “Grains of Paradise”. It was considered to be a valuable spice in Ancient Greece and Rome and was use by the king. It is mentioned in one of the oldest known medical documentations the Ebers Papyrus (approximately 16th century BC) this is an ancient Egyptian list of 877 prescriptions and recipes.

Cardamom essential oil has some key chemical constituents: Eucalyptol and Alpha-Terpinyl acetate. See David Stewart’s book called The Chemistry of Essential Oils Made Simple for more details on how these components make the essential oil beneficial.
Young Living offers both Cardamom Vitality for internal consumption and the regular variety for topical and aromatic use.

Cardamom Vitality is terrific for digestive support. Try it combined in a capsule with DiGize for gastrointestinal  efficiency. You can find this taste traditionally in the kitchen of Swedish cooks, particularly found within sweet and savory dishes.  Add a drop of Cardamom to you hot tea for a unique flavor.

Try the traditional Cardamom essential oil topically or in your diffuser. You will find this spicy aroma both uplifting and stimulating to all the senses, truly a refreshing experience. Diffuse Cardamom to energize and refresh the mind.

Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) essential oil is a member of the ginger family of botanical plants. Cardamom has historical uses that include internal consumption to protect the stomach and inhalation to invigorate the mind. Cardamom has also been used traditionally to support mental fatigue and nervous strain.

Favorite Spring Essential Oil Trio

**Post updated to reflect Vitality Oil uses.

Spring has sprung and it reminds me of my favorite and most used combination of Young Living oils. Some people refer to this as the LLP combo for short, but it includes lemon, lavender and peppermint essential oils. These oils are so versatile so give them a try and see which way you prefer.

How We Oil Up In The Spring

Spring is my favorite time of the year for this oily combo but I actually use it fairly regularly year round. Young Living essential oils are so versatile. I began diffusing this awesome smelling combo and applying this combo to the bottoms of my feet . I notice a big difference when I use the oils internally and I love that I can with Young Living pure, therapeutic grade oils. One day, I decided to try the combo (supplement oils now referred to as Vitality combination )in a “00” veggie capsule.  My combo includes lemon,  lavender and  peppermint and topped off with Young Living’s V-6. You can learn more about V-6 and carrier oils here.

For my 7 year old, I apply this combo mixed in double the amount of carrier oil in an empty Young Living bottle with a roller ball on top and apply to the bottom of his feet. We also diffuse this combo for support. I’ve also applied a drop of lavender inside my nares or inside my cheek for a quick application. I apply lavender ‘neat’ or undiluted. Be sure and check your essential oil reference guide for other suggestions. Also check the oil bottle labels. Starting slow and diluting is never a bad idea when you are starting a new oil or new regimen.

Dorado Azul Essential Oil

Dorado Azul essential oil is exclusive to Young Living and found in Ecuador. Dorado Azul was originally considered just a weed in Ecuador. Young Living’s owner D. Gary Young was one of the first to study and analyze this plant, discovering it’s many benefits. Natives used it in ancient times for wellness. It contains the powerful constituent 1,8, Cineole (Eucalyptol), which is also found in Eucalyptus varieties. Do your own research on the chemical properties of this essential oil.

How Do I Use This Oil?

I love applying this oil topically over the chest area because of its powerful chemical constituent that I mentioned above. This essential oil can be applied topically when diluted 1:1 with V-6 or your favorite carrier oil. Apply 2-4 drops on location such as over abdomen, chest or on vitaflex points.

Dorado Azul can be diffused and may enhance your mood. Dorado Azul can be found in the blend Common Sense essential oil blend by Young Living.

*There are many research articles on this essential oil, I think you will be pleasantly impressed with what you can un-cover.

Ready to add Dorado Azul essential oil to your list?

*This post was re-published with compliant information. Please do you own research so you can find out the other ways to use this wonderful oil.
