Young Living Orange Oil

Living in the “Sunshine State,” I have grown up loving oranges. When the orange blossoms are in full bloom, there is nothing sweeter or more pleasant. Young Living has a variety if citrus oils available. Orange essential oil is one of my favorites.

Young Living describes Orange (Citrus sinensis) essential oil as having a rich, citrus aroma that calms and relaxes the body and uplifts the mind. The oil may also support normal cellular regeneration.

The fragrance of citrus oils are believed to induce relaxation and reduce feelings of occasional sadness. Orange essential oil can encourage positive emotions of peace, happiness, and well-being. Yes please!! I will take a double dose of those feelings.

Did you know that citrus oils, orange in particular, are rich in the powerful antioxidant d-limonene? This is an orange essential oil benefit that supports the body’s natural cellular activities. Orange has an approximate ORAC of 18,898. (TE/L). If you don’t know about antioxidant benefits, I encourage you to do your own research to learn about how antioxidants can benefits your health.

My favorite ways to enjoy orange oil

I love to use natural cleaning products. You can learn more about Thieves household cleaner here. Sometimes I will add a drop of a citrus oil to whatever I’m cleaning because I like the way it smells. I don’t really love cleaning, so I figure that I may as well encourage those positive emotions I experience with the addition of orange oil while I’m doing that not-so-fun mom job.

One of my favorite cleaning tricks is naturally deodorizing my carpet. I like to mix baking soda with a few drops of orange essential oil, sprinkle on my carpet and vacuum. That is one clean and terrific smelling house! I don’t have any pets, but this may work well on pet odors as a natural alternative to store bought carpet fresheners.  (Save my recipe by pinning graphic below).

Do you ever get bored with drinking plain water? I sure do!
I love a couple of drops of Young Living’s pure, therapeutic grade essential oil in my filtered drinking water or to my iced tea. Orange oil can be used to enhance the flavor of many food and drinks. Learn more about why I prefer Young Living essential oils here.

Citrus Oil Precaution

All citrus oils bear mentioning a word of caution in regards to their potential of photosensitivity. You don’t want the oil on your skin to come in direct contact with the sun or UV exposure for at least 12 hours after application. Just be smart as with all of your essential oil uses and use caution.
